Tigh Rosag – Rose’s House in Gaelic – is a charming three-bedroom cottage on the beautiful Isle of Barra, situated on the edge of the Western Isles of Scotland. The cottage is situated in the heart of Barra, just a few minutes walk from the village and main ferry terminal of Castlebay.
The cottage was newly-refurbished in 2013 and will open its doors for the first time in May 2013. It is run by husband and wife team Ena and John Thomas, who live nearby and maintain the property. The self-catering cottage can comfortably accommodate up to six people and boasts a newly-fitted shower and bathroom, an open plan living, dining and kitchen room and master bedroom situated downstairs. Upstairs are two newly refurbished bedrooms each featuring two single beds. The cottage offers views over Castlebay, the sea and Heaval, the island’s largest hill. Pets allowed, no smoking.
April to sep £350 per week, oct to march £280 per week

What a fantastic cottage, have just spent 4 days on the lovely island of castlebay and will definitely return next year in fact have already booked TIGH ROSAG as it was absolutely fabulous, will miss Ena and John who kept us entertained on our stay, and could not have asked for a lovelier cottage to spend my holidays in.

We spent New Year at this wonderful cottage! Beautifully presented and extremely comfortable! John and Ena were wonderful hosts and we shared a good few jokes. The children loved the Xmas lights and we have to mention the Turkey who lived next door, who came over for bread. Never seen anything like it. Also, a wild pheasant appearing in the morning for some food. Fantastic views and ideally located for exploring this wonderful island.
We will return!

Absolutely perfect accommodation and very friendly owners couldn’t do enough for you. Good Scottish hospitality at its best.

Highly recommended, very comfortable cottage, ideal situation, you couldn’t ask for more on a rental accommodation and the views are outstanding.

Didn’t want to leave.

We stayed for a week from 10th – 17th July. It was lovely clean & comfortable and had everything we needed for a good weeks holiday. Near to the centre of Castlebay with lovely views out over the bay. Would definitely recommend staying there and hope to return soon

Just back from a week in tigh rosag and thoroughly enjoyed it . Lovely cottage with good wifi and flat screen tv with basic sky. It is a short walk into castlebay which was handy. Great views over bay to vatersay. Owner John was handy if information on anything was required. We are booked to come back next year.

Brilliant accommodation and lovely hosts! Couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome from John and the family.

Cottage was lovely and was had the most amazing views of Castlebay.
